Queer Caff 1:00 pm
Queer Caff @ Open House Oxford
Nov 17 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Are you aged 16-24 and worried about your housing or facing homelessness as a result of your sexuality? Or do you know someone who might be in this position? LGBTQIA+ people are hugely over-represented in the statistics on homelessness, in fact 1 in 4 homeless youth identify as LGBTQIA+. Queer Caff is a regular social space where young people who are worried about their housing can come and simply hang out or seek advice, friendship and solidarity. And you’re welcome to bring your friends. We’re launching our first ever Queer Caff on Saturday 17th November from 1-4 with a takeover

Housing Crisis: Design Feature or Flaw? 7:30 pm
Housing Crisis: Design Feature or Flaw? @ Open House
Nov 27 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
“As a student in the 1980s I paid £9 a week in rent. I was given a mortgage by a building society to buy a family home in the 1990s despite having a temporary low paid job and being in my twenties. I could write a few books, including on housing, because I had the security to do so, and I could start a family without worrying. There are reasons why such things are not possible now. And there are ways in which we can make them possible again.”  On Nov 27th at 7:30pm, Danny Dorling, professor of geography at the University
